Juan Dussán is a New York-based eclectic musician who specializes in scoring for Film, Television and Multimedia productions. As a Pianist, Juan specializes in classical music, collaborative piano and jazz. He has flexibility to play and improvise professionally in a wide array of genres. His constant exploration for new creative musical concepts and technology makes Juan a progressive and multi-faceted artist.
A winner of the NYU Film Scoring Competition, he has scored multiple short films produced by directors from New York and Los Angeles. One of them, ‘Moonshot’ (2018) was awarded 1st Place at the Columbia University Film Festival.
Juan is a ROLI artist. He is the keyboardist and orchestrator for Nación Aura, Abandoned Stars, and other projects from Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela and France.
He has been the Producer/Director for his YouTube Channel and Trouble Couple Piano Duet’s, which was featured by Classic FM in 2017 and 2018 consecutively. The same year, Juan became a member of the ROLI Creator Community, dedicated to produce content promoting instruments and tools made by the company.
As a pianist, Juan was awarded honorable mention at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Lima, Peru, playing major works by the composer. He debuted in the winners recital at the National Auditorium of Lima the same year. He has been awarded 1st place in multiple piano competitions.
Juan currently resides in New York city, where he pursues a master’s degree in Film Scoring at the New York University with professors Mark Suozzo, Ron Sadoff, Sergi Casanelles, Irwin Fisch, among others.
